Formed in an Orange County, Calif., high school guitar class in the early '90s, Home Grown specializes in high-energy punk-pop ska. Even though vocalist/bassist Adam Lohrbach, vocalist/guitarist John E. Trash, guitarist/vocalist Ian Cone and drummer Bob Herco admit to having been influenced by bands like Metallica, Depeche Mode and the Smiths, they decided to hone their craft in the vein of some of punk's most popular acts. Deeply inspired by bands like Operation Ivy and NOFX, Home Grown quickly became a regular on the Southern California punk scene

They first appeared on a Liberation Records compilation titled Punk Sucks. Their debut full-length, That's Business, appeared in 1995. A move to Cargo Records in 1996 resulted in the release of Wusappaning?!, an EP that featured the local radio hits, "Alternative Girls" and "She Said." Success continued with an appearance on the Half Baked soundtrack and led to their signing with Outpost Records. Their major label debut, 1998's Act Your Age, was produced by Clif Norrell (Soundgarden, Weezer, Rollins Band).
